Inquiries and Inquests
.
Citadel's strength in advocacy in criminal and regulatory matters gives our members a greater understanding of the risks and consequences of involvement in any Inquiry. We provide advice and representation to any individual or organisation involved or considering involvement in an Inquiry whether as a core participant or as a witness giving oral evidence.
Members also provide advice and representation to various individuals and organisations concerned in an Inquest into any death(s), from pre-inquest issues such as investigation, disclosure, the need for a jury, anonymity, the ambit of and preparation for inquests and the application of Article 2 of the ECHR to advocacy in the course of an Inquest. We are also able to provide advice and advocacy in relation to challenges to the decisions of coroners.
Members of the team are registered with the Bar Council to accept instructions directly from members of the public, companies or other organisations under the Public Access scheme – please refer to the Public Access section of this website.
