Child rapist's jail term cut to encourage paedophiles to plead guilty
Alan Parker represented Mr Wilson, from Nechells, Birmingham, who worked at the city’s Little Stars nursery and was jailed for life with a minimum term of 15 years in July last year after admitting two counts of rape, 16 counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, 25 counts of making indecent images of children and three of distributing such images. A former head of Chambers is one of the editors of ‘Paterson's Licensing Law’. Members of this team have extensive and nationwide experience in terms of advice and advocacy, from hearings before councils / magistrates to proceedings in the higher courts, representing applicants (both individual and corporate), objectors, police and other interested parties.
Licensing work of all kinds is undertaken including appeals, reviews, challenging special policies and the legality of local authority policies. Our expertise in the overlapping areas of regulatory and criminal law enables us to provide comprehensive advice regarding compliance obligations, and / or representation in enforcement proceedings relating to alleged breaches of licence conditions or legislation.
