Child rapist's jail term cut to encourage paedophiles to plead guilty
Alan Parker represented Mr Wilson, from Nechells, Birmingham, who worked at the city’s Little Stars nursery and was jailed for life with a minimum term of 15 years in July last year after admitting two counts of rape, 16 counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, 25 counts of making indecent images of children and three of distributing such images. Our members have a wealth of experience in cases involving allegations of sexual offences or pornography offences, in all Courts, at all levels - from vulnerable defendants appearing in the Youth Court, to the most grave multiple complainant or multiple defendant cases involving people trafficking, familial or institutional abuse. They routinely deal with issues such as : drafting Indictments in cases spanning decades and different legislative regimes ; applications for third party disclosure ; cases involving vulnerable witnesses, including those requiring assistance from intermediaries ; defendants who are vulnerable by reason of youth, mental health or mental impairment ; contested applications for SOPO's and other orders made post-conviction.
