Specialist criminal advocate, instructed by defence and prosecuting authorities in the most serious criminal matters. Has experience of cases involving homicide of all kinds, gang warfare and organized crime, high value drug offences, serious sexual offences, fraud by various methods.
Listed as a leading criminal practitioner on the Midland Circuit by ‘Chambers & Partners’ for a number of years (2006 entry described him as ‘a jury favourite’, 2012 entry 'efficient and able').

Instructed to prosecute :
- a baby killing with issues of causation
- those charged with murder arising out of the Lozells riots (Junior at the first trial andin the Court of Appeal, Leader for the re-trial)
- an immigration scam in which the defendants were convicted of bringing into the UKIndian nationals pretending that they were genuine musicians
- Handsworth riots arising out of a mela celebration
- a woman accused of stalking and murdering her ex-partner’s new girlfriend
- two defendants charged with killing their friend by punching him, a case in which there were substantial causation issues
- a rape case in which the meaning of consent under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 was considered by the Court of Appeal.
Instructed to defend :
- a drugs importation case where millions of pounds of drugs were brought into the countryfrom Holland
- boys charged with manslaughter arising out a stoning incident on a tennis court in SouthLondon (represented one boy at trial and all 5 Defendants in the Court of Appeal)
- historic sex abuse case, defendant was charged with raping and indecently assaulting histhree daughters
- woman accused of murdering her friend by stabbing her
- a defendant charged with murder of his stepson, twenty years after the death, the only evidence was that of a woman who was 3 years old at the time of the killing
- one of 4 foreign defendants charged with murdering a fellow immigrant in their squat andthen hiding the body
- a defendant charged with murder - petrol thrown over victim and ignited
