Admitted as a solicitor in 1980, and in 1988 co-founded Parker and Grego, a firm then specialising in criminal defence and care proceedings.

Instructed to defend and prosecute in various serious criminal matters, including homicide, firearms offences, violence and public disorder, drugs, sexual offences against adults and children (current and historic cases), and complex frauds of various kinds. Authorised to prosecute cases involving serious sexual offences.

Recent instructions have included :

  • represented several (separate) defendants each charged with murder
  • represented a defendant alleged to be a ‘serial rapist’, charged with 12 offences against prostitutes
  • represented one of twelve defendants charged with riot and attempted murder arising from riots in Birmingham in 2005
  • represented a defendant in a multi-defendant drugs conspiracy trial, involving preparatory hearings dealing with arguments on public interest immunity and telephone interception evidence (under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000)
  • instructed as leading junior in a multi-defendant case of theft / fraud concerning the disposal of motor vehicles worth several hundred thousand pounds.
