Delroy Henry represents Stoke-on-Trent loan shark

Monday 23rd April 2012

Delroy Henry represented a loan shark at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court who faced charges of illegal money lending, blackmail, money laundering and perverting the course of justice.

Giovanni Caruso, a cage-fighter from Stoke-on-Trent was sentenced to four-and-a-half years’ imprisonment for illegal money lending, three counts of blackmail, money laundering and two counts of perverting the course of justice. The man threatened his victims and offered to facilitate one woman working as an escort to pay off her debts.

The man, who was unemployed, earned around £3,000 a week by loaning money at a rate of £50 interest for every £100 borrowed, but increased the amount of interest once the loan was taken out.
